Usually I do a Wordless Wednesday, but I thought I’d change it up (partly because I haven’t been taking pictures, partly because I don’t have many of my older photos on this computer). It seems lately my focus has been books, even if I haven’t been reading as much as I’d like, so I went a-googling and found myself a reading meme at Should Be Reading. So here is it!
• What are you currently reading?
NOS4A2 by Joe Hill
I am very much enjoying this book so far (I believe I’m just over halfway through). I love the way Joe Hill writes, having read his previous two novels, Heart-shaped Box and Horns. I really enjoy books that are not predictable, and though some of the little things are not surprising there have been quite a few things that were not what I would have ever expected. Definitely recommend this book to any horror fans!
• What did you recently finish reading?
The Looking Glass Wars by Frank Beddor
This is a book I got in 2012 for Christmas, having asked for it, but just never quite got around to reading. When I got the second book of the trilogy for Christmas last year I decided it was time to start it. At first I was a bit wary, the names of the cities and some of the people were seemingly uninspired in my opinion, but once I got into the story I got over any reservations I may have had. It is quite easy reading but a captivating story. I found it quite good and will definitely continue the series once I’m through a few more of the books at the top of my reading list.
• What do you think you’ll read next?
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time by Mark Haddon
I decided this was going to be my next read after seeing the preview for the National Theatre Live stage adaptation while at the theatre to see the NTL encore of Coriolanus. It looked very intriguing and I would very much like to see it. Knowing it was a book first I of course would like to read the book before seeing the show. I look forward to reading it! (And it means I get to go to the bookstore, something I’ve avoided being lacking in a paycheck in recent months).
That was fun! I do love talking books. So, what are you all reading?
